The Faculty Senate of the University of West Georgia, constituted within Academic Affairs, is the primary means through which faculty participate in the shared governance process at the University. This body typically meets once per month to vote on curriculum changes, hear committee reports, and discuss issues that affect faculty. Highlights of this meeting include: Liberal Education and America's Promise (LEAP) as implemented at UWG (LEAP West); post tenure review incentive program; faculty workload; convocation and commencement; leave and compensation for faculty; discipline and grievance procedures; Faculty Senate restructuring; USG Policy on Political Activity.
