The Faculty Senate of the University of West Georgia, constituted within Academic Affairs, is the primary means through which faculty participate in the shared governance process at the University. This body typically meets once per month to vote on curriculum changes, hear committee reports, and discuss issues that affect faculty. Highlights of this meeting include: Sonny Purdue is sole finalist in USG (University System of GA) Chancellor search; points for celebration across UWG; State Legislation SB377 -- Senate Bill 377; international admissions; QEP proposal process; Post Tenure Review; Open Records Request for UWG budget; summer course enrollment; changes to structure of academic unit's schools and colleges; Innovations Grants; HIPS (High Impact Practices) and discussion of diversity, equity and inclusion at UWG. Action on parking fees for campus employees did not pass. A resolution in response to SB 377 passed.
