The Faculty Senate of the University of West Georgia, constituted within Academic Affairs, is the primary means through which faculty participate in the shared governance process at the University. This body typically meets once per month to vote on curriculum changes, hear committee reports, and discuss issues that affect faculty. Highlights of this meeting include: pay increase; Center for Teaching and Learning (note CTL in future years the CTL will be renamed IFE -- Institute for Faculty Excellence); comprehensive program analysis; faculty turnover; Quality Enhancement Plan; SACSCOC Accreditation; external grant funding; and modifying the Policy and Procedures Manual concerning meetings.
