Description

The Faculty Senate of the University of West Georgia, constituted within Academic Affairs, is the primary means through which faculty participate in the shared governance process at the University. This body typically meets once per month to vote on curriculum changes, hear committee reports, and discuss issues that affect faculty. Highlights of this meeting include: evaluation of administrative personnel; evaluation of department leaders; Post Tenure Review; annual evaluations; Covid 19; dual modality (classes simultaneously available online and face to face); alternative work arrangements (remote work); calling special meetings of Senate; concerns about appointment of Deans and Chairs; faculty concerns presented to administration and responses; sabbaticals; Academic Affairs and academic units restructuring; strategic planning process; process for electing Senate Chair.
