The Faculty Senate of the University of West Georgia, constituted within Academic Affairs, is the primary means through which faculty participate in the shared governance process at the University. This body typically meets once per month to vote on curriculum changes, hear committee reports, and discuss issues that affect faculty. Highlights of this meeting include: budget cuts; faculty offices; dual enrollment (high school students who take college courses); enrollment increases; upcoming SACSCOC accreditation review; new colleges/schools related to mental health and humanities; intellectual property; CORE Impacts (the general ed curriculum within the USG); and new Faculty Handbook language related to Post Tenure Review.
