The Faculty Senate of the University of West Georgia, constituted within Academic Affairs, is the primary means through which faculty participate in the shared governance process at the University. This body typically meets once per month to vote on curriculum changes, hear committee reports, and discuss issues that affect faculty. Highlights of this meeting include: comprehensive program analysis (scorecard); Summer Camps; SACSCOC (Accreditation organization) and upcoming accreditation report including anticipated timeline as an attachment; QEP (Quality Enhancement Plan) proposal process; discussion about research leave (sabbaticals); student success as a new category for faculty evaluation; UWG's budget (slides from a presentation including budget reduction slides are appended to the minutes); vacant faculty positions; the policy for Graduate Assistantships; police and security during homecoming; and information on PolicyStat (a platform through which the Faculty Handbook will be made available).
