Abstract

Description

The Faculty Senate of the University of West Georgia, constituted within Academic Affairs, is the primary means through which faculty participate in the shared governance process at the University. This body typically meets once per month to vote on curriculum changes, hear committee reports, and discuss issues that affect faculty. Highlights of this meeting include: student evaluations for online courses; pre tenure reviews, promotion, tenure, and post tenure reviews using an online platform; promotion time limits; minimum criteria for promotion; probationary credit towards promotion; curriculum vitae in dossiers according to one's discipline instead of using a vitae template; instructor/course evaluations; the Parking Code; budget and legislative update by the president; formatting of policies and procedures; summer school salaries; advisement.
