Abstract

Description

The Faculty Senate of the University of West Georgia, constituted within Academic Affairs, is the primary means through which faculty participate in the shared governance process at the University. This body typically meets once per month to vote on curriculum changes, hear committee reports, and discuss issues that affect faculty. Highlights of this meeting include: "Undergraduate Research" designation for qualifying courses; High Impact Practices (HIPS, a series of pedagogical best practices); textbook affordability; budget deficit filled by CARES Act (Covid relief) funds; and revision of student course evaluations (SEI's). An obituary for Dr. James Murphy (Economics) was included as an appendix.
