Abstract

Description

The Faculty Senate of the University of West Georgia, constituted within Academic Affairs, is the primary means through which faculty participate in the shared governance process at the University. This body typically meets once per month to vote on curriculum changes, hear committee reports, and discuss issues that affect faculty. Highlights of this meeting include: ChatGPT; partnership with the Cobb County School district for additional degrees with its teachers; dual enrollment (the state program where high school students take college courses for credit); IFE (Institute for Faculty Excellence; in prior years this was called the Center for Teaching and Learning CTL); Graduate Assistantships; UWG Revised Mission Statement; and rubrics for annual faculty evaluation.
