dc.descriptionThe Faculty Senate of the University of West Georgia, constituted within Academic Affairs, is the primary means through which faculty participate in the shared governance process at the University. The Faculty Senate began issuing Resolutions on a selective basis in 2008 to emphasize collective opinion of the faculty within, and in addition to, the official minutes of the organization. This resolution, titled "Resolution in Response to the January 6, 2021 Assault on the US Capitol," addresses the violent and unlawful assault that disrupted the lawful counting of Electoral College ballots. The faculty strongly oppose this action and the attitudes that led to it. The Faculty Senate adopted this resolution on January 22, 2021.
