Abstract

Description

The Faculty Senate of the University of West Georgia, constituted within Academic Affairs, is the primary means through which faculty participate in the shared governance process at the University. The Faculty Senate began issuing Resolutions on a selective basis in 2008 to emphasize collective opinion of the faculty within, and in addition to, the official minutes of the organization. This resolution, titled "UWG Faculty Senate Resolution on Diversifying the Faculty from the Diversity and Internationalization Committee," is a three-page document that provides two pages of background about why diversifying the faculty is important and provides four recommendations for its implementation. The Faculty Senate adopted this resolution on March 30, 2018.
