This image shows the Dome of the Rock through the Qanatir also commonly known as the Arched Gates. The Qanatir is also known as The Scales, since it is believed that on the day of judgement the scales of judgement will be suspended from these arches. The Dome of the Rock occupies the space associated with Muhammad's Night Journey and also, in Hebrew belief, with the near sacrifice of Isaac.
