Description
The Roman Catholic section of the cave system includes several altars and burial chambers associated with Jerome, Paula, and Eustochium. This photo shows a twentieth century mosaic over an altar. It depicts the two women (St. Paula and her daughter, Eustochium), St. Jerome, and Eusebius. The architecture within the portion of the cave complex controlled by St. Catherine's is a combination of 1960s style and the original primitive cave system.
