Masada (Israel): Northern Palace Lower Terraces

Visitors to the site who are in good physical condition can descend (and then ascend again) to the lower levels of the palace via a series of very steep and extensive staircases. Here, if one looks to the edge of the cliff one can see (just below where the Dead Sea intersects the cliff) the semi-circular middle terrace and below it, the square-shaped upper terrace.
