A brown-haired apostle, without facial hair, is pictured in the ceiling mosaic decoration of the Battistero degli Ariani (Arian Baptistery; Arian Baptistry). It is quite likely, given Dr. Sheppard's interest in the Fourth Gospel, that this is John. Identification, however, is uncertain.
