Abstract

Description

The hot bath, or caldarium, had two rooms. The photo was taken from the south side of the caldarium looking north. The hot bath included two three sections. A square bath and then one shaped like a flower behind with the furnace even farther to the north of that. In the front square room there are a few small square pylons. They were likely part of a hypocaust system where very hot water was circulated under a raised floor.
