The photos show the exterior of the Contarini del Bovolo Palace (in Italian: Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo) in the San Marco district on the island of Venice, Italy. Venice (Venezia) is a city in northeastern Italy that is built on a group of 126 islands separated by open water and canals, linked through 472 bridges. The historical island city is home to only 51K people, but a very popular tourist destination with about 60K tourists per day. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is renowned for its beauty, architecture, and artwork. This building, located between the Rio di San Luca and the Corte del Maltese, is an example of late Gothic style, and was constructed between the 14th and 15th centuries. The palace has two very different facades. The ones shown in the photos are the famous exterior on Maltese Court, which features a round stair tower with a spiral staircase.
