Description

Signage about sculpture garden that is adjacent to the theater reads: Most of Caesarea's statues were found headless. Roman statuary, which represented emperors (?), deities or local dignitaries remained part of the urban ornament of the Byzantine city, and was sometimes displayed in Christian contexts alongside Christian symbols.
