Description

Within the Church of St. Paul at the Three Fountains in Rome, Italy hangs a copy of "The Crucifixion of St. Peter" (1604/05) by Guido Reni (1575-1642), an oil painting on canvas. The second fountain is to the right of this photograph, where black iron bars restrict access. Saint Peter was crucified upside down, at his request, because he felt unworthy to die in the same manner as Christ.
