Description
The Roman Catholic section of the cave system includes several altars and burial chambers associated with Jerome, Paula and Eustonchium. Here there is a twentieth century stained glass window depicting Saint Jerome translating the Bible into Latin (the Vulgate). The architecture within the portion of the cave complex controlled by St. Catherine's is a combination of 1960's style and the original primitive cave system.
