Abstract
Description
The entry to the Church of the Nativity represents three eras. At the very top of this photo (bisected by the scaffolding) one can see the corbel that supported the lintel of the Justinian era church. The arched entrance, currently blocked up, was put in place by the Crusaders. Finally, the tiny door, called the Door of Humility, was added by the Ottomans. This 2016 photograph should be compared with photographs in this collection of the entrance in 2023 when reconstruction was complete.
