Abstract
Description
View inside the nave of the church of San Francesco, a major church in Ravenna, Italy. The current building and bell tower were constructed in the 10th century and were rededicated to St. Francis of Assisi in 1261. The church is famous as the site of Dante Alighieri's funeral in 1321. The single nave has two alleys flanking the nave (outside the Corinthian columns), and the viewpoint in the photo is from one of the allies. This photo also shows the coffered wooden ceiling.
