dc.descriptionThe Roman Catholic section of the cave system includes several altars and burial chambers associated with Jerome, Paula, and Eustochium. Underneath the raised Altar of Joseph are two windows that look down into the older part of the cave. The architecture within the portion of the cave complex controlled by St. Catherine's is a combination of 1960s style and the original primitive cave system.
