Description

In the Greek Orthodox chapel of Golgotha on the second story of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, a fresco painted in 1824 depicts Jesus, in gold, with his back to Pontius Pilate, who is washing his hands. Opponents of Jesus (a soldier in blue) is wearing garb reminicent of the Turkish Ottoman Empire.
