Description

The center of the photograph shows the dome of St. Peter's Basilica, which dominates the skyline of Rome, Italy. The church of the Italian High Renaissance, completed in 1626, is located in Vatican City and is the largest church in the world. This city is an independent microstate enclaved within Rome. The Vatican Museums (Musei Vaticani) are public museums that display works of art collected by the Catholic Church and the papacy throughout the centuries. In the photo, tourists are shown waiting in lines for Vatican tours.
