The photos are of the Venice island of San Giorgio Maggiore (in Venetian: San Zorzi Mazor). This island is south of the main island group, to the east of the Giudecca. The Church of San Giorgio Maggiore (white building) was designed by Palladio and its construction began in 1566. The bell tower features a ring of nine bells in C sharp.
