Ravenna, Italy: Battistero Degli Ariani: Central Medallion

The central ceiling mosaic decoration (medallion) of the Battistero degli Ariani (Arian Baptistery; Arian Baptistry). The mosaic decoration features John the Baptist as he baptizes Christ in the Jordan River; the Holy Spirit appears as a dove and the River Jordan as an old man with red horns, wearing a long green loincloth.
