Rome: Pyramid of Cestius

Dating to approximately 12BCE, the pyramid shaped monument served as the tomb for Gaius Cestius. According to inscriptions, he was a magistrate and served as a praeter. The tomb was later incorporated into the Aurelian Walls. These photos were taken in May of 2017 from within a moving vehicle.
